Today is August 17 and the day before my birthday. I would normally shop at thrift stores before my birthday to get the best deals for my birthday outfit but I am still in Chicago and can't take advantage of the sales this year. Luckily for you, I will share some of my favorite thrift stores in the San Antonio area and some deals or tips on how to shop today.
1) Thrift City – 6804 Huebner Rd., San Antonio, TX 78238
Today they have 75% off select tags.

2) Thrift Town– 2864 Thousand Oaks Dr., San Antonio, TX 78232
This week all pink tags are 60% off
Money saving tip: Join their VIP program to earn coupons that can be combined with their color of the week promotions
3) Texas Thrift – There are multiple locations but I prefer to go to 7500 IH 35 North, #104, San Antonio, TX 78218
They have 50% OFF all Orange Tagged items and 30% OFF all White Tagged items all weekend.

a. Time saver tip: Stop by this location after you visit the Goodwill Bins
b. Money saving tip: Join their rewards program to be notified of weekly specials. They have a specific color that is $.99 on Monday and others that are 50%.
4) Goodwill Outlet AKA The Bins – 4810 Eisenhauer Rd #240, San Antonio, TX 78218
a. Time saver: Go to the departments that you typical sell (ex. clothes or shoes) and then look at the rest of the items.
b. Money saving tip: Everything is by the pound. Make sure you look at all your items one more time before checking out. It can get hectic and you do not want adrenaline to cloud your purchasing decisions.
5) Uptown Cheapskate – 11255 Huebner Rd, Suite 205, San Antonio, TX 78230
a. This is like a Plato’s Closet but with more high-end brands.
b. Money saving tip: Join their rewards program to earn points towards future purchase. Follow them on social media so you are notified of their super secret promotions.
6) Goodwill – 727 Northwest Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78216
a. You can go to any Goodwill near you but this location has better inventory during the week days
7) Salvation Army – 10203 W 1604 N., San Antonio, TX 78254
8) Boysville Auxiliary Thrift – 307 W. Olmos Dr, San Antonio, TX 78212
a. Time saver tip: Stop by this location after visiting the Buffalo Exchange Outlet
b. Money saving tip: Follow them on social media to be notified of their sales
9) Revolution Thirft - 8513 Blanco Rd, San Antonio, TX 78216
I love their mission of donating 100% of their profits to high impact, life changing charities in the San Antonio Area.
You really have to dig for good sales but they are there. Take your time and look at the corners since there are always things hidden behind other items.
10) Youth Alternatives Thrift Shop - 3103 West Ave, San Antonio, TX 78213
This is a smaller non-profit thrift store but I find a lot of unique items whenever I go. Make sure to look through everything and compare prices.
