Small Business Saturday: A Mama in Distress

1) What is your name(s) or nickname(s) that you go by?

Hi, my name is Ana Christina but I go by Christina

2) Why did you create A Mama in Distress?

I created A Mama in Distress because I have always been told I should sell my crafts. After I had our twins my husband and I decided it was best if I stayed home with them as well as our 7 year old. I took this as an opportunity to finally take everyone's advice and offer others what I have always made. I started out with vinyl t-shirts because it’s easy to come up with designs for every occasion, event or just for fun. Especially for my kids. There has to be a matching shirt for every bow my daughters have.

3) What kind of experience can a new customer expect when buying from you?

I want a new customer to instantly fall in love with their purchase and come back for more. I want them to think of me as a friend, where they can come to me for anything. If there is a specific way they want an item I’ll be happy to make it for them the way they want it. If they are not satisfied with how the item came out I will be happy to fix it for them.

4) What kind of products and services do you provide?

I currently offer distressed flannels, leggings and vinyl T-shirts. I am also working on adding distressed shorts and jeans as well as jewelry.

5) What is your favorite product to sell and why?

I love when I get requests for a special design to be made on a shirt because every request is unique.

6) How can people buy from you?

People can purchase on my website amamaindistress.com

7) What are your social media platforms where people can follow your journey?

8) What do you want your customers to take away from following your journey or buying your product(s)?

When a customer buys my products I want them to know I’m a mom just like most of them. I’m chasing twins all day and dealing with a sassy 7 year old. I’m a one mama shop. A Mama in Distress is my part-time job and raising my kids is my full-time job. When they make a purchase from my shop they are helping me provide for my family.

9) Is there anything that you would like to add?

I want others to know if they are passionate about something and find an opportunity to do what they love then they need to go for it.

Final Thoughts From Shenel

A friend of mine highly recommended Christina's work because of the custom T-shirts she made for her daughter. Here's one of her favorite shirts that she purchased.
